Accessibility declaration
Unia is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the following legislation: Law of 19 July 2018 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.
This accessibility statement applies to https://unia.be.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant. Non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.
Basis of this accessibility declaration
An external accessibility audit was carried out by SPF Stratégie et Appui (BOSA). This audit consists of a simplified analysis. Consult the report (in French).
Not accessible content
Problems under our own control
The audit revealed the following accessibility problems, which are under our own control:
- SVG elements with the "img" role do not have correct alternative text.
- Elements use ARIA attributes that are not authorised.
- Insufficient colour contrast between text and background.
- Images do not have a text alternative.
- Form elements do not have a linked label.
- Links do not contain observable text.
These issues were resolved by the end of February 2026, in accordance with the improvement plan.
Problems with external content
The following 2 issues relate to external third-party content:
- External Power BI tool loaded via an iframe.
- Instagram emblems present on a limited number of pages.
We are planning the following alternatives.
Proposed alternatives
We offer alternatives to external content:
External Power BI tool
Interactive graphics are provided by an integrated Microsoft application (Power BI). This content is loaded in an iframe and is outside our organisation's technical management. As a result, we are unable to address certain accessibility issues, such as missing ARIA attributes or insufficient contrast.
To make this information accessible, we offer the figures report (pdf in French).
Instagram embedding
Some pages include Instagram posts. This content is provided directly by the platform. We have no control over the accessibility of this view.
Where appropriate, we provide a text alternative or a short description of the content alongside the embedded post.

Improvement plan
By the end of February 2026, the following errors were resolved:
7 form elements without a label or accessible name
These include input fields with ids:
- #year
- #area
- #ground
- #breach
- #jurisdiction
- #location
- #unia
These fields do not contain a <label>, aria-label, title or other accessible name.
This issue occurs on pages such as "Resources and advice " (in FR and NL) and "Case Law" (in FR and NL).
Action:
A correctly linked <label> or equivalent accessible naming mechanism will be added for each field.
Select element without accessible name
The <select> element with the identifier localPolicy on the "Negotiated Solutions" (in FR and NL) page does not have a label or other accessible name.
Action:
An explicitly linked <label> is added so that screen readers correctly announce the functionality.
SVG elements without text alternatives
SVG elements were found with a role such as img, graphics-document or graphics-symbol that did not contain an accessible text alternative.
Action:
When the SVG is informative, we add a <title> and/or an aria tag.
Decorative SVGs are correctly marked as decorative (aria-hidden="true").
Insufficient colour contrast
Some text elements do not meet the minimum contrast ratio of WCAG 2.1 level AA, including for styles such as :
- .text-black/50.mb-2
- .italic.opacity-50.mt-1
Action:
The colours will be adjusted so that the contrast respects the required ratio of at least 4.5:1 for current text.
Links without recognisable text
3 links do not contain clear text or an accessible label, making their purpose imperceptible to assistive technology users.
Action:
Each link will be accompanied by descriptive text or an accessible alternative (for example, via an aria label).
