Unia and 6 other human rights organisations sign a protocol on the protection of human rights

Unia, the Central Monitoring Council for Prisons (CCSP), the Federal Institute for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights (FIRM-IFDH), the Institute for the Equality of Women and Men (IEFH), Myria, the Combat Poverty, Insecurity and Social Exclusion Service, and the Flanders Human Rights Institute (Mensenrechteninstituut – VMRI) are joining forces. They have signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen their partnership and place human rights more firmly on the agenda, both in Belgium and at an international level.
Common framework, separate mandate
The protocol builds on the cooperation that already existed between the 7 institutions. Each organisation retains its independence and its own mandate. At the same time, the protocol provides a common framework that facilitates consultation and joint action.
Through this collaboration, we aim to strengthen the protection and promotion of human rights. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we strengthen one another and increase the impact of our work. In this way, the protocol contributes to an approach that better protects human rights and benefits everyone.
