Diversity and Inclusion training at BESIX Group

In June 2025, around 15 colleagues from the HR department of BESIX Group attended a training course on diversity and inclusion, organised by Unia. This training was very important for them, given their ongoing commitment to an inclusive work culture and to a neutral recruitment.

Why did you choose to request a training on diversity and inclusion?

"At BESIX, we are committed to creating a working environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of origin, gender, age, religion or other protected characteristics. We realise that awareness around unconscious prejudice and knowledge of the anti-discrimination law are crucial to achieving this. The training offered us an opportunity to critically review and strengthen our processes, with the aim of creating an even fairer and more transparent recruitment policy."

Which elements of the training did you find most useful?

"The combination of theoretical insights and practical exercises made the session particularly powerful. The concrete real-life examples and role plays were particularly enlightening. In addition, the explanation of the anti-discrimination law gave us a solid legal framework to further optimise our internal processes. The interactive approach and the space for questions and discussion ensured that every participant was actively involved.

What impression did the process make on Unia?

A training on neutral recruitment depends on the participants’ willingness to reflect critically on their own bias.
