17 June 2024: “Improving Equality Data Collection in Belgium” conference

Data collection and studies on inequality and discrimination in Belgium are numerous, but the results are scattered. Publications often get lost in the abundance of online information. In addition, we often talk about discriminated groups rather than with them. With the Improving Equality Data Collection in Belgium (IEDCB II) project, we are examining how this situation can be improved.

During this one-day conference, the two parts of the Equality Data project will be presented:

    • An identification of the existing data on (in)equality or discrimination based on disability, health status or physical characteristics in Belgium, the addition of these data sources to the "Equality Data Hub" database and an analysis of the gaps.
    • A study on self-identification as a method for collecting data on origin in Belgium and its added value in identifying groups at risk of discrimination.

Participation is free, but don't forget to register before 30 May!

The event takes place in-person and online.
