What is the role of Unia?
Unia’s mission is to fight discrimination and to defend equal opportunities. It does this in a variety of ways:
- By handling reports submitted by individuals who feel they have experienced or witnessed discrimination. If the case falls within Unia’s competence, we will seek to mediate between the parties concerned to arrive at a constructive solution. In certain cases, and only with your consent, we may take the case to court.
- By providing information and raising awareness, particularly among the public, politicians, companies and organisations through campaigns, training, tools (such as the online training module eDiv), advice and recommendations, publications and statistics.
